Pregnancy Update - 37.5 weeks

On Monday we had an appointment with our doctor which marked 37.5 weeks. He said we are progressing nicely and everything looks great. So far I have had a great pregnancy just like with Ryder. The two pregnancy's have been almost identical. But about this time (around 37 weeks), it really starts wearing on you. The extra weight on your body is quite a chore to carry around especially getting up and down from a sitting position. Also, having a baby pushing your hips out which makes you waddle is no fun when you are trying to keep up with an active toddler (Ryder). I am looking forward to having a waist again, and being able to bend.

Our due date all along has been January 15, however our doctor is going to induce labor on January 10, so that means we get to meet Rylie 5 days sooner. Woohoo! With my first labor being so quick, he wants to make sure we make it to the hospital, so this is the recommendation.

The countdown is on...11 Days to go.

Now we need to keep completing the "To Do" tasks to make sure everything is set and ready before Rylie comes.

Christmas 2010

Im a bit late with the posts lately, because I wanted to post a bunch of pictures with them, but looks like that is not going to happen, at least not today.

Christmas was wonderful this year! Ryder had so much fun talking about Santa, opening presents and hanging out with the family. He got all sorts of fun toys to play with from a large Disney Cars set, to Zhu Zhu pets and a Jumppy Kid Trampoline to Thomas the Train and Toy Story figures. Ryder also got a battery powered Lightning McQueen Quad, and loves riding in the house and outside. Christmas morning, he actually put skid marks on my parents carpet from pushing the go button while jammed up against the stairway. oops:) Jim and Kelly gave Ryder the Jumppy Trampoline and he loves it. Its very large for an inside toy, but its fun and easy for him to jump since it has some kid sized handles. It took them 3 hours to set it up on Christmas morning, but it has been well worth it. His favorite is to get up on the trampoline and say "Watch this everybody". He has started jumping backwards, doing twists and jumping from the trampoline to the couch. He is quite the little dare-devil.

I told Tyson we will need a seperate bedroom in our new house just for Ryders (and Rylie's soon to come) TOYS! They are everywhere! He is one very lucky little boy.

I also had a lovely Christmas, Tyson spoiled me again and got me everything on my wish list including a gift card to Burke Williams (my favorite spa for massages and place to relax).

We did a gift exchange with the family, and it was so nice. We all had fun watching our secret person open their gifts and stockings, and everyone got some very nice items. I think we will definitely do it again next year.

It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas!

Yes, it's true, we don't get any snow here in Southern California, but we have had lots of rain and cool weather (for us). Ryder loves to be warm, and loves this hat! And we all love how cute he is in it!

Merry Christmas!

Christmas Wish List

If anyone (especially my hunny) is looking for any last minute gift ideas for me here are some items I would love...
Petunia Pickle Bottom Diaper Bag

Slippers

A couple colorful Pashmina Wraps

A belly wrap to help support loose muscles and help regain your pre-pregnancy figure.

Rings like this, I love!

A few necklaces to jazz up any old outfit

Christmas Eve, Eve, Eve

There are 3 more days until Christmas! I cant believe it! It feels like this month has gone by way too fast. I wish this time of year would last forever!

I still have a few things to do to get ready for Christmas. I was putting it off till this week, but that looks like it was a bad strategy for me. The rain has been pouring here for the last 5 days so it is proving to be a bit more difficult to get out of the house to do anything.

I still need to: buy 2 items at 2 diffrent stores, wrap a about 10 presents, get nails painted, decorate a gingerbread man with Ryder, take back a few things before the Christmas rush hits, make our Christmas morning strata dish (on Christmas Eve), make ambrosia salad and a buffalo chicken dip for the big Christmas Eve celebration with Tyson's family, bake some goodies, and lets not forget about watching Christmas Vacation (a family favorite). I hope to have a productive night tonight.

From Wedding Dresses to Baby Nursery

This weekend was a wet and rainy weekend here in Southern California. However, on Saturday my Mom and I braved the weather and headed to Jinny's Bridal to meet up with my sister and her wedding party for a day of Wedding Dress shopping. I am happy to report Chelsea found her dress after only trying on 5 dresses! It is perfect and it is definitely the one! I cant wait to see her in it on her big day this May.

On Sunday, I am happy to report we did not leave the house and ended up getting the nursery almost done. We went through all the wonderful baby shower gifts and washed up all those cute little pink & violet clothes and blankets. We were also given a few bags of baby girl clothes from friends, so we got those washed up and put away as well. After 4 loads of laundry, I can honestly tell you this little girl is going to be very well dressed and very warm. We are so lucky! I cant wait to dress her up in all her cute clothes.

36 Weeks

Today marks the 36 week mark of this pregnancy. Here are some facts about our little Rylie:

According to Babycenter.com, our baby is still packing on the pounds — at the rate of about an ounce a day. She now weighs almost 6 pounds (like a crenshaw melon) and is more than 18 1/2 inches long. She's shedding most of the downy covering of hair that covered her body as well as the vernix caseosa, the waxy substance that covered and protected her skin during her nine-month amniotic bath. Your baby swallows both of these substances, along with other secretions, resulting in a blackish mixture, called meconium, will form the contents of her first bowel movement. At the end of this week, your baby will be considered full-term. (Full-term is 37 to 42 weeks)

A Quick Vacation

Tyson and I are in our last day of class, and let me tell you it has been mind blowing. We have learned so much and more than we ever thought was even possible about stock trading. It has been a long class but very educational and worth every hour. We still have a long ways to go in our stock education before we consider ourselves professional traders, but we are on our way.

After we graduate today at 3pm, we will go home to pick up our little Ryder and heading up to a cabin in the mountains for some relaxing family down time. We are all looking forward to it.

Have a great weekend!

Stock Trading Class

Tomorrow, Tyson and I are starting a 7-day Professional Trader course at Online Trading Academy. We don't know much about trading right now, but know this extensive course will get us on the right track. I am so excited that Tyson will be experiencing this with me.

This has been a dream of mine for a very long time, not only to take the course but also to be a day trader in my free time and hopefully make a little extra money while I'm at it for travel, retirement, etc.

This is one of the benefits of my job, but has been so hard to schedule the time to take the class with work-load and child-care to worry about. So before we have a newborn, and before its too late, we are taking this class...starting tomorrow! We signed up last month, and we have arranged for my parents and my sister to watch Ryder next week while we are in the long grueling hours of class. There is no time like the present to get started...Right?

Wish us luck!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Bright and early tomorrow morning we will be on our way to Colorado to spend Thanksgiving with Tyson's family and hopefully have a white, snowy Thanksgiving!

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I just wanted to share a few things that I am thankful for this year...Our Family, Our Health, and A Smooth and Healthy Pregnancy!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Christmas Cards

Our family Christmas photo was taken November 14, so after that I was able to order our Christmas cards, get the photos inserted into all the cards, sign all the cards, and label, stamp and sticker all the envelopes. I am happy to report that our Christmas cards are done and ready to go out in record time this year. I know its still a bit early, so we will wait patiently until Dec 1 and then send them out. I love getting things done early, such a good feeling.

PS- Tomorrow we are off to Colorado for Thanksgiving and will return in one week.

Gift Exchange

This year my family (my Parents & Siblings & their Significant others) have decided to do something we have never done before, a Gift Exchange. We usually buy for everyone in the family, and it ends up getting quite expensive. However, since our family is growing and we are all looking to save a little time and money this year, we decided a gift exchange would be a great idea.

This weekend we drew names for who we will buy a nice gift for, and a different name for who we will stuff a stocking for. We will keep both a secret until Christmas, when it comes time to open presents. And then the big reveal!

I can't wait, I just love giving gifts, don't you?

A Weekend Away

To celebrate our 4th Wedding Anniversary, Tyson and I are heading out to Pala Casino for the weekend. Its not very far away, we get free rooms there, and we love casinos, gambling, and playing cards, so this is quite a treat for us. Ryder will have a fun two days spent with my parents, and we will have a fun two days spent at Pala. This will serve as both our Anniversary weekend away and our "Babymoon", as this will be our last trip together before we add a new baby to our family.

We look forward to spending lots of time together, perhaps some spa treatments, lots of blackjack, Pai Gow and hopefully enjoying a restaurant or two without worrying about someone eating crayons or throwing sippy cups, or be in a hurry to get our child a bath before bed. We will be able to enjoy a few moments of adult time together.

Here's to a great weekend!

4 Years Ago, I Became a Remmert

November 4, 2006 - Tyson and I were married and my life as a Remmert began.

It was a lovely wedding and perfect day. We still look back on that day with very fond memories.

Four years ago today, our live as two became one, and we accepted each other for better or worse. Our life together has been far better than worse! We have done so many great things, among those welcoming our son Ryder into the world, and having our little girl Rylie on the way.

I love being a Remmert, I love being Tyson's wife and I cant wait for many more fun years to come!

Happy Anniversary my Love!

The Story About A Turkey

Last year, my Mother-In-Law Susan, made some darling little turkey decorations (out of pine cones and pipe-cleaners among a few other items) and sent a box to my Mom. My Mom has had them on display in her china cabinet all year, and just pulled them out to place them with the Autumn decorations that adorn the formal dining room table.

Ryder got his hands on one of the little turkeys last week and he loves playing with it. He puts it on his toy motorcycles to go for a ride, he zoom's it around the house with his Buzz Lightyear, Woody and Cars figures, he tries to dunk it in our water cups, he holds it while he is watching a movie, and even throws it down and then picks it up to give the turkey kisses and says "turkey booboo hurt".

Lets just say I don't think this turkey will be adorning our Thanksgiving table this year (he's a little beat up)...but Ryder sure has had his fun with it.

A New Doctor

We found a new Pediatrician for Ryder and Rylie, and will be seeing him for the first time TOMORROW, October 28th for Ryder's 2 year well check. I am excited to meet this new doctor that will help us keep Ryder and the new baby healthy and strong, as well work with us on our own schedule for immunizations. Here's hoping for a smooth first meeting and appointment tomorrow.

The Great Pumpkin Harvest

This weekend we went to the Great Park Pumpkin Harvest at the Irvine Great Park. This park is in the process of being built and will be very cool when it is completed. For now they have free hot-air balloon rides for anyone who comes by or wants to wait a while to get on, along with some special events every now and then.

This weekend they hosted a free Harvest day, and it was so nice. We started by checking in to go up on the balloon because although we have tried a couple times before the wait was always too long for us. So we checked in for the balloon and then went to ride the carousel which Ryder absolutely LOVED! He was shouting "WEE" the whole time. We walked around the hay maze which Ryder did not love, went to the petting zoo which Ryder LOVED. Ryder also got to pick out his very own pumpkin at the pumpkin patch, and participate in some fun arts and crafts and carnival games. We bought some Kettle Corn and as we were heading out (because it was way past Ryder's nap time and he was exhausted), we went to return our pager for the balloon, and they said they were ready for us if we wanted to go up. We of course said "YES", and proceeded to head over and board the Great Orange Pumpkin Balloon. It was so cool! Even though it was a cloudy day, there is quite a view at 400ft. It was such a great way to end a wonderful fall, family outing.
