2 Weeks Old

Rylie is 16 days old today. She has been such a sweet content baby, but life is definitely more hectic with an infant and toddler. I have been meaning to update the blog every day, but time slips away from me too quick these days. Here are some photos of Rylie at 14 days old.

Last Day as a Mom of 1

Tomorrow morning we are heading over to Mission Hospital to have our baby girl. By tomorrow afternoon I will be a Mommy of 2 instead of 1. I will post pictures when I get a chance but it may be a few days.

Have a great week!

New Years Eve for Children

On New Year's Eve our good friends the Johnson's, invited us and some other families over for an early "Kid Friendly" New Year's Eve PARTY. There were lots of appetizers that both children and adults love, decorative balloons, festive decor, party poppers, sparkling cider in plastic champagne flutes, and best of all for the children, each had their own special decorated cupcake (there was a yummy cake for the adults too). The cupcakes were a huge hit but very messy, so we stayed and ate them on the kitchen floor. It was not a relaxing adult night, but we had a great time together as a family, hanging out with some of our best friends. Good-bye 2010 and hello 2011!

Maternity Leave or Gone for Good?

Rylie is scheduled to be born on Monday, January 10. I can't believe that is one week from today. Anyway, today is my last day working before having our baby girl. I am not sure if I will return back to work or not, we will have to see how motherhood with two babies goes. I am looking forward to being a stay at home mom for a while. So, today I say good-bye to the corporate life and hello to my continued advancement in motherhood. I'm looking forward to it!

Rylie's Baby Shower

On Sunday, December 12, my lovely Sister and Mom threw a lovely baby shower at the beautiful Dove Canyon Country Club. It was so fun to have a Christmas themed shower. Everyone loved the beautiful decor, and it made for a very festive event. (Sorry, I'm just now downloading the photos.) We had a yummy salad bar and dessert bar, but best of all was the company. It was such a fun day filled with lots of fun ladies. Oh, did I mention that it was 90 degrees that day. Very strange for December weather...but hey this is Southern California so the weather is always surprising us.

Ryder's First Movie

On New Years Eve, Tyson and I took Ryder to see his first movie at the movie theater. We went to the matinee showing of Tangled. It was so exciting for all of us. Ryder was excited but I think Mommy and Daddy were even more excited for this first family experience. Ryder was the youngest child in the theater by far, and it was pretty crowded. We sat on the side of the theater and hoped for the best. Ryder did great for half of the movie, then he got a little antsy. He actually had no concept of being quiet to watch a movie and also had no idea there were so many others watching it because it was so dark. But half way through he stood up on his seat, turned around and said "HI EVERYBODY!" then he turned to the front and said "HI EVERYBODY!". Of course Tyson and I were trying to get him to be quite because we didn't want to ruin the movie for anyone else. We finally coaxed him to his seat and got him to quiet down by giving him some popcorn and emmies (m&m's). He did this a couple more times before the movie ended and decided he wanted to stand for part of it as well...but all in all, I would say he did reasonably well for a 2 year old, and we all had a pretty good movie experience.

By the way...the movie was great!

WELCOME 2011

Us Remmert's have a lot of new plans in 2011, and they all will bring great things for us. We are very excited about all the opportunity this year will holds. Above all, we will be welcoming our baby girl into the world about 10 days into 2011. This will definitely bring a new dynamic to our family, but we look forward to the addition. More to come on the secret plans in 2011.

As a recap...these were my resolutions last year that I posted about...

1. Be healthier as a family, by eating right and exercising!

2. Be my husbands girlfriend.

3. Implement family Sundays (with no TV).

4. Organize my life (bills, photos, clothes, etc.).

5. Bake/Cook more!

Here are my 2011 New Year's Resolutions:

1. Be the BEST WIFE and MOTHER I can be.

2. Move the family and find a HOME for us to GROW and be HAPPY in. (This will help with the organization and the family time and cooking/baking that I mentioned last year.)

3. Say GOOD-BYE to the corporate WORK life and help Tyson get his NEW BUSINESS going.

We wish you and your family a very HAPPY NEW YEAR, filled with lots of peace, love, and joy.
