Hot, Hot, Hot!

The fall weather has decided to confuse us this year. This week has been so hot that its miserable to leave your house or office to go anywhere. You know its bad when you cant even open your doors or windows in the morning. It has been 77 degrees at 7:00am. Yesterday was the hottest day with record temperatures reaching well over 100 degrees in many cities around Southern California. This weather is usually expected in the valleys and central areas, but at the beach it was also over 100 degrees and was quite a shock to everyone. It was a very hot day indeed. On Sunday to cool off just a bit, we pulled out Ryder's pool.

Dear Autumn, Please send us your cool, crisp weather ASAP! We really, really, want to be cooled down a bit, and we miss you. Thank you!

Mother & Son Evening

Last night Ryder and I ventured out to "The Chuck". Chuck E. Cheese that is. In our house we have to say the Chuck, because if Ryder hears the words Chuck E. Cheese, he gets extremely excited. This is funny because Ryder has only been to Chuck E. Cheese five times in his life, twice when he was too young to remember, once with both Tyson and I, once with just Daddy, and once with just Mommy (last night). You would think he was a regular with how he owns the place, but he must just remember from the previous times. For example, the second we saw the Chuck E. Cheese rat character on front of the building, he knew where we were, when we walked in the front doors he held out his arm (like a pro) for them to stamp it, he knows where his favorite table is and walks to it, he knows his favorite rides/games, etc. It was very fun to be out together, and have such a good time, I love seeing his excitement. We had a great night together and ended about 7pm when Ryder fell fast asleep in the car, which was about five minutes after we left the restaurant.

I foresee many more trips to "The Chuck" in our future. It makes Ryder so happy and is something fun we can do as a family. Here is our favorite thing to do there. It takes one token and gives you a great little souvenir of your trip. (Sorry its a bit blurry, but its a picture of a picture, you know how that goes.)

Autumn is Here!

Happy Autumn!

Autumn is officially here and I am so excited. It is by far my favorite season of the year. It is my favorite for many reasons, but here are a few...Tyson and I were married in the Autumn, Ryder was born in the Autumn, the weather is great, and our soon-to-be-born daughter will have Autumn as her middle name.

Here's some things I am looking forward to this Autumn...baking, shopping, family gatherings, holidays, weather, pumpkin patch, Disneyland (we are taking Ryder for the first time on Oct 11, right before his 2nd Birthday), Ryder's 2nd Birthday, and lots and lots of other fun stuff.

Today we have our 5 month prenatal check-up. I cant wait to see how everything is progressing and hear that sweet little heartbeat on the monitor. That is such a great sound.

I will leave you with one more beautiful picture of the Fall colors at their best.

22 Weeks

It has been a while since I have done a pregnancy post. I promise to post some pictures soon, but we are really bad at downloading them from our camera.

At 11 inches (the length of a spaghetti squash) and almost 1 pound, your baby is starting to look like a miniature newborn. Her lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and she's even developing tiny tooth buds beneath her gums. Her eyes have formed, but her irises (the colored part of the eye) still lack pigment. If you could see inside your womb, you'd be able to spot the fine hair (lanugo) that covers her body and the deep wrinkles on her skin, which she'll sport until she adds a padding of fat to fill them in. Inside her belly, her pancreas — essential for the production of some important hormones — is developing steadily.

Fun in the Summer Sun

Ryder has been having lots of fun in his little pool this summer. My parents also bought him a cute little speedo so that he can enjoy the water without big swim trunks on. He loves it, and I have to say...I think he looks pretty darn cute in them... Don't you agree? :)

21 weeks down...19 to go!

We had our 20 week ultrasound on Friday, August 27, and our routine doc appointment. Everything looks great so far, and we are on track for our January 15 due date.

Here is our little Rylie at 20 weeks. (scary skeleton face/brain picture)

Happy September!

Happy September...

September is the start of Autumn, which brings cooler weather, and planning for an October Birthday party which also means Ryder is one month closer to his 2nd Birthday, which also means we are one month closer to meeting Rylie Autumn Remmert. This is a great time of year.

I picked this picture because Ryder just got his first set of crayons and paper and markers, and has been having so much fun with them. He even saw a big crayon bank hanging on the wall at Chuck e Cheese's and was sad when he couldn't have that beautiful giant crayon.
