Potty Time!

We officially started potty training Ryder this past Tuesday and he already has it down. He has not had any accidents since Tuesday morning, and tells us when he needs to go. We have gone on a couple outings and he has done so well! We are so proud of him.

Now, at 3.5 months old, is it too early to potty train Rylie? I cant wait to be completely diaper free. One down, one to go!

Happy Easter 2011!

Since we are now living in Colorado, this has by far been the coldest Easter, we have ever experienced. Yesterday, Ryder participated in his first community Easter Egg Hunt. We did so good, and we had a great time even though it was 36 degrees, and started snowing on our way home. The Easter Bunny was very good to us.

Today its 46 degrees out, we all dyed eggs last night and held a big egg hunt this morning for Ryder, Wyatt and Trevor. There was money involved so boys loved it.

Monkey Business

I just dropped my mom back off at the her airport hotel, and the family is napping right now, including Tyson.

My mom came to visit today. She was working a trip to Denver, and had a layover, so we went to pick her up this morning. We had a great day together (we always do). We had some breakfast together, took Ryder to Little Monkey Business for the first time, played some games, and had a great time. We will definitely be going back. For most of you out there, who don't live in CO, Little Monkey Business is a place that is a coffee/snack shop attached to a 4000 sq ft indoor play area for little ones. This is very popular when the weather is not so great, or if you are meeting up with other families for a play date. I have to admit, my mom and I thought it was great, and I think Ryder would agree, as he is still napping from this extra fun outing. We cant wait to see my mom again, and we also cant wait to go back to Little Monkey Business. (I will take some pictures next time).

Skinny Jeans

My mom was here a couple days ago and we went shopping. We had so much fun.

I have been protesting the skinny jean look for so long, but my mom talked me into trying on a pair. After that, she loved them, and I liked them enough to get them. She bought me two pairs (my first 2 pairs of skinny jeans), and now I love them. I am now a skinny jean lover, and so happy I jumped on board the band-wagon.

It may be silly to admit this...but I feel like such a cool mom when I'm in my skinny jeans.

Ryder - 2.5 years old!

Today Ryder is 2 1/2! If I were to sum up Ryder in two words they would be smart and energy. He runs around the house all day, jumps on the trampoline, goes up and down the stairs, runs through stores, wrestles non-stop, and plays continuously without getting tired. This boy has energy that just wont stop. I wish I had that much energy. He is also extremely strong, he will be a good body guard for his sister, that's for sure.

Ryder loves all things that move, trucks, cars, planes, tractors, trains, buses, etc. He points them out on the road and knows all their official names, like excavator, back hoe, cherry picker, mac truck, peterbuilt truck, monster truck, hot rod, city bus, school bus, bull dozer, jet, airplane, helicopter, motorcycle, etc. He is so smart! He is so fun to have conversations with! He also LOVES little animals like mice, rats, birds, squirrels. We don't have any pets, but he loves to look at them, and he would hold them if he could.

He still loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Jungle Junction, Chuggington, Cars movie, and Toy Story. He loves treats and says he dreams about candy canes, cookies, lollipops and emies (m&m's) every night. Its so funny. He loves kissing his sister and trying to hold her, he does not like sharing or playing with friends his own age at this point, he loves going for drives and going with us to the stores. His favorite stores are Target and Costco. Well those are the ones we frequent most often, so it makes sense. :) Ryder is so handsome, we actually have people stop us when we are out and tell us how handsome he is, and how he is just stunning. He has the longest, dark eyelashes that just make his eyes sparkle and pop.

We have been loosely potty training this past couple weeks, but are about to officially start soon! I think he will get it pretty quick...or I hope! Ryder sleeps from 8pm - 6am and takes one nap a day from about 1pm - 4pm.

At 2.5 years old, Ryder weighs in at 39 pounds, and measures 3 ft, 3 inches. The height predictor and doctor estimates Ryder will be between 6ft 2in and 6ft 6in.

Easter Bunny!

We ventured out to a new mall today and sat with a new Easter Bunny. He was a very nice bunny, and Ryder and Rylie did great. No tears this year! :)

Rylie - 3 Months Old!

Rylie has brought so much peace and joy to this family. She is a very content and happy baby. Rylie is so cute and has the most beautiful long eyelashes that touch her eyebrows. She also smiles way more than Ryder did. She loves to smile!

At 3 months old Rylie loves: to stand (with some assistance), sit up (also with assistance), hold her head up, lay on her sides and belly, sleep in her swing, smile and laugh (especially at her brother), to be warm, to stare at ceiling fans and chandeliers, taking baths with mommy, eating, kicking her little legs, cooing and babbling, and just taking in the world around her.

She also drinks one bottle of formula a day, right before bed, and then sleeps for a 6 hour stretch. I am so happy about that, but also looking forward to the 9 - 10 hour stretches.

Rylie weighs in at 13.2 pounds (52nd percentile) and measures 24 inches long (58th percentile). Just a side note, at 3 months Ryder was 16.3 pounds. Rylie is much more petite than Ryder but that's probably because shes a girl.

Ryder is Growing Up

Ryder slept in a crib until March 1 (a little over a month ago) and never tried to get out once. He loves his bed, and going to bed, and always has. Since the beginning of March he has been in a big boy full-size bed, and still has never tried to get out. When he wakes up he sits in his bed and waits for us to come get him.

Ryder's room is right across the way from ours, and today we woke up to Ryder coming into our room at 6:00am. We even have a gate on the outside of his door to prevent him from getting out and possibly falling down the stairs at night, however, he not only got out of his bed for the first time, but he also got out of the gate (that I didn't latch properly last night, since he never gets out of bed).

Today after his nap, he didn't sit in his bed and wait for us like he usually does, he got out of bed, opened the door, and started calling us from upstairs (this time the gate was latched). The days of him leisurely waiting for us in his bed are over...as of TODAY!

First Photo Shoot

Today we had our first photo shoot EVER with both children. It was fun, but it was quite hard to get both of them to smile, and look at the camera at the same time. Here is a little sneak peak.

SNOW!

On Saturday it was beautiful and very warm here. It was around 85 degrees and yesterday (Sunday) we got snow. Since we are still new to snowy weather, this is very exciting for us. Check out these pictures of our exciting SNOW! Today we woke up and the snow was still there, and it was bright and shinny, the snow just sparkles like glitter when the sun is out. So beautiful.

Day of Rest

Yesterday, Kurt and Susan threw a party in our honor. This was a great way for us to meet some of the neighbors, for them to meet us, and for Ryder to find some play buddies. We were all working hard all day to get ready for the party. Lots of cooking, cleaning, trips to the grocery store, etc. It was lots of work, my feet and back are very tired, but it was great fun and we met some very nice people.

We just got done picking up the remnants of last nights FIESTA party, so now its time to REST. Well, right after I buy my first ticket back to OC, to celebrate my sisters Bachelorette party. I'm so excited, I cant wait. It will be a fun filled trip of family and friend visits, Mother's Day and Chelsea's Bachelorette Day!

It is April 1, and there is much fun we are looking forward to this April.

-Bop and Yaya are coming to visit us in Colorado next weekend

-Rylie turns 3 months old on April 10th

-Ryder turns 2 and a 1/2 years old on April 14th

-My sister Chelsea turn 28 on April 22nd

-Easter falls on Sunday, April 24th

-We will be taking Rylie and Ryder to their first photo shoot together

-We will be taking Rylie and Ryder to see the Easter bunny

-Warmer weather

-We will be exploring more and more of this new town and state of ours

All in all, it will be a fun April.
