Christmas Time

I know I have been so bad about updating our blog lately. One of my New Years resolutions will be to post more frequently. But here is a brief update on whats been going on here in the last month...

We went to California for a week for Thanksgiving and had lots of fun with our family! The children were very sick but we all survived.

We have had lots of snow and below freezing temperatures.

We hosted a Thanksgiving at our house this past weekend for our Colorado family.

Ryder is still doing swim class and loving it. He is also enrolled in a little Elf art program that started last Friday and also has class this Friday. It's a 2 hour, drop off class...his first one ever! They read books and make 3 gifts in each class for their loved ones. He had a great time last week and cant wait to go back this Friday. I love that he is so social and doesn't care at all when I leave. It was harder for me to leave him last week, than it was for him to be left.

Rylie is getting her 5th tooth and just started clapping a couple days ago. Also, she just started walking in her walker. She has had the walker for a few months, but never moved much in it. But this weekend she started moving all by herself.

Christmas shopping has commenced and is almost finished.

We are all caught up on Christmas wrapping and decorating. Have I mentioned how much I love this time of year. With all the snow we've had it makes it look so festive (just what Ive always dreamed of).

Right now the kids are napping, I have the Christmas music on, and I'm baking some peanut blossom cookies. Yum!

I think that sums it up for right now. Talk to you soon! Have a very happy Holiday Season.

Five Happy Years!

Happy 5th Anniversary Tyson!

You are the most amazing husband and father I could have ever imagined. You have given us two beautiful children. You have made our life so happy, fun, funny, adventurous and exciting. You always have a smile on your face that is so contagious that its hard for anyone not to smile around you. Thanks for all your support, love and laughter through the years. I cant imagine this roller-coaster called life without you, you make everything better! I'm looking forward to many, many more!

I love you so much!

Ryder having fun

Today we woke up to 12 degree weather. Brrr...

I feel like I put snow clothes on the children and take them off more times to count in one day. It's a lot of work to go outside or to run errands, and you have to be prepared for anything, but despite the work, the snow is still a novelty for us. And we are LOVING the SNOW!

OH, and I started playing Christmas music early this year. Its hard not to when it looks like this outside. Oh how I love the Christmas Classics of: Nat King Cole, Bing Crosby, Burl Ives, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, etc.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN 2011!

Happy Halloween from our little cow and contractor.

PS- There is still snow on the ground from our storm last week, and they are estimating another 10 - 12 (more) inches on Wednesday. I guess that's life in the Rockies.

My Little Cowboy

Ryder got a very nice pair of boots from Shepler's (the popular western apparel store around here) and he loves them. They are his first pair of cowboy boots, and he loves wearing them. We went to the pumpkin patch the other day (as we go about once a week) and I tried to pull his pant legs down over his boots, and he was not happy about that. He said he wanted to show them off. Ok, Ryder...lets show them off! Ryder's little friend (and swim class-mate) Sydney is in the photos too. They are so funny to watch together.

PS- Tyson and I got boots too! Since we live in the country we just had too. Tyson said if you cant beat them, join them.

Apples...Apples...Everywhere!

One of my favorite things about the fall are the APPLES. There are so many fun and easy things to do with them, like candied apples, caramel apples, apple pie, apple sauce, or just eating the sweet, crunchy fruit just plain. I love them all.

Today Ryder finished his Preschool 1 swim class and as a treat and a way to celebrate, Ryder helped me make 20 caramel apples yesterday for his class mates and teacher. We gave each of the three children in his class and teacher two apples each (one apple-pie caramel apple, and one m&m's caramel apple). Yes, we still have a few left, but they seem to be going very fast.

They were a big hit!

Rylie - 9 months old

I realized I have not posted any pictures of our little Rylie girl in the last month or so...so here is a blog dedicated to her.

Rylie is 9 months old now, she is so sweet, and even tempered, she goes along with anything and rarely fusses. She has two bottom teeth, and the two front top ones are starting to peek through. She takes 2 naps a day, and is starting to eat more solid foods, and drink from sippy cups. She LOVES water! She puts up with all her brothers shenanigans yet still loves him so much and lights up and giggles every time she sees him. They have such a special bond, and I love watching them together.

The Great Pumpkin Bandit!

At the beginning of October we started going to our local farms/pumpkin patches and bought some pumpkins for our outdoor fall decor. Little did we know that the pumpkins we put on display outside, would be gone by mid-October. We finally caught our little bandit in action.

I find it so amazing that this little squirrel (who Ryder has named cookie) can carry away these pumpkins that are about his same size. Oh, he has also taken quite a large chunk out of the large pumpkin.

I guess I will be displaying my mini pumpkins indoors from now on.

PS- Happy Birthday to one of my very best friends...Megan, and to my amazing cousin Brooke! Happy Birthday girls!

Turning Three!!!

Ryder turned 3 on Friday the 14th, and we had his birthday yesterday in our backyard, it was wonderful. He wanted a fire truck themed party, and that is what he got. We had a fire truck bounce house, fire truck centerpieces (made up of all Ryder's many fire truck toys), red balloons and table cloths, fire truck coloring station, and fire hat goodie bags for the children. The birthday boy had lots of fun and so did the other children. He even woke up today and asked where his fire truck bounce house was. It was a big hit!

Ryder

Ryder is almost 3 and, currently in Swim Class and an art class at our community center. We signed him up for soccer, which we were all very happy about, but it was not what we thought it would be. We cant wait till he is old enough to really play. He is just so happy to be meeting some new friends and having fun, which is always our goal for him.

Package Delivery

Yesterday Master Ryder and Miss Rylie were the recipients of a very large package from Auntie Kelly and Uncle Jim. Oh what fun it is to get packages, and they had no idea what it was. Turns out it was a Halloween play-house, for them to color and play with. We set it up right away so they could start their Halloween adventures. Rylie posed for the photo, but Ryder was too busy in the house to come out and say cheese. Thanks Auntie Kelly and Uncle Jim - I see many fun hours of play time in our future.

Finally!

First off let me say HAPPY FALL!!! My favorite time of the year!

I know it has been over a month since my last post, and I feel terrible. I have been trying to post but to no avail, either the blogger wont let me sign in, some sort of security issues with logging in, or I have no time.

So, as you can imagine there is a ton for me to tell you about, and I hope to be able to update you with everything with many of my blogs to come. Lets first start with A Day with Thomas! We spent a day at the Colorado Railroad Museum this past Sunday. My parents were here and we had a blast, and Ryder was just beside himself with excitement. We took a ride on Thomas, we saw many historic train cars and train memorabilia, we watched a huge miniature replica of Thomas chugging all along a track of its own, got to meet Sir Topham Hatt, got a Thomas train whistle for Ryder, took lots of pictures, had fun festival food, and lots more... It was such a fun time. We look forward to seeing Thomas again next year.

A Little Boy in HEAVEN!

Tyson recently took Ryder to see Cars 2. Needless to say he was pretty excited since his whole life for 2 years has been all about Cars 1.

7 Months Old

Yesterday, our beautiful baby girl turned 7 months old. Just this week she got her first tooth, started sitting without support, started eating more solid food (including yogurt), started being more vocal, and wanting to move constantly by rolling and jumping and moving those legs. She wants to crawl and move so bad to keep up with her big brother. He is her constant entertainment and partner in crime. :) She is still a very content and excellent baby. I couldn't have asked for a better baby. I cant wait to see what the upcoming months bring to our ever growing Rylie.

Our New Home

I know, I promised to post about our 2011 road trip adventure, however our days have been filled with trying to find a house. After about a month of looking for our perfect home, I'm happy to report we have found the one for us. This is a beautiful home and its located in Erie, CO. It is such a wonderful town and location for us to raise little ones. We are just renting right now until we are sure this is the place for us, but for now we are very happy with our new home. We move in this weekend!

Wonderful Trip

This trip has been so great. Its so nice to come home. We have celebrated and hung out with family, seen friends, and the best part comes tomorrow...my sisters wedding reception. We cant wait! I just finished my Matron of Honor speech for the happy couple. It's a good feeling to have that done.

Today our baby girl Rylie is 5 months old. We started feeding her some real food yesterday. She got to try peaches and applesauce, she liked the applesauce much more than the peaches, but she didn't swallow much of either one. She still needs to work on getting that food to the back of her mouth to swallow. Shes so funny! yummy!
