A New Doctor

We found a new Pediatrician for Ryder and Rylie, and will be seeing him for the first time TOMORROW, October 28th for Ryder's 2 year well check. I am excited to meet this new doctor that will help us keep Ryder and the new baby healthy and strong, as well work with us on our own schedule for immunizations. Here's hoping for a smooth first meeting and appointment tomorrow.

The Great Pumpkin Harvest

This weekend we went to the Great Park Pumpkin Harvest at the Irvine Great Park. This park is in the process of being built and will be very cool when it is completed. For now they have free hot-air balloon rides for anyone who comes by or wants to wait a while to get on, along with some special events every now and then.

This weekend they hosted a free Harvest day, and it was so nice. We started by checking in to go up on the balloon because although we have tried a couple times before the wait was always too long for us. So we checked in for the balloon and then went to ride the carousel which Ryder absolutely LOVED! He was shouting "WEE" the whole time. We walked around the hay maze which Ryder did not love, went to the petting zoo which Ryder LOVED. Ryder also got to pick out his very own pumpkin at the pumpkin patch, and participate in some fun arts and crafts and carnival games. We bought some Kettle Corn and as we were heading out (because it was way past Ryder's nap time and he was exhausted), we went to return our pager for the balloon, and they said they were ready for us if we wanted to go up. We of course said "YES", and proceeded to head over and board the Great Orange Pumpkin Balloon. It was so cool! Even though it was a cloudy day, there is quite a view at 400ft. It was such a great way to end a wonderful fall, family outing.

Birthday Recap 2 - The Big Party

On Saturday, October 16 at 2:30pm we threw a Big Birthday Bash for our Big 2 Year Old Birthday Boy at a local park. It was a Disney "Cars" themed Birthday Party, and it was great! The weather was PERFECT, it was overcast, but it wasn't too hot or too cold. The location was PERFECT. The kids loved the park, there were so many things for them to do, and it keep them quite busy. We even had trouble getting everyone together for the Cake. It was a PERFECT day!

Ryder opened one present and it was a Scooter, then he didn't really want to open anything else. He just wanted to play at the park and play on his new Scooter. We tried a couple times to get him to open the rest of his presents but it was not working. He was just too preoccupied with the park, his friends and his new toy. What a lucky boy he is! We took the rest of the presents home and he opened them the next day. It reminded me of our wedding, and how we made a whole weekend out of it. I love extending celebrations, because I never want them to end.

Ryder had a great day with his friends and family! He is a very lucky boy, indeed.

28 Weeks

We are into the 28th week which means the start of the 3rd trimester. Everything is going very smooth, and we are looking forward to meeting this new little girl. I cant wait to see how Ryder and Rylie will interact together.

Here is the weekly newsletter update:
This week your baby weighs two and a quarter pounds, like a Chinese cabbage, and measures 14.8 inches from the top of her head to her heels. She can blink her eyes, which now have lashes. With her eyesight developing, she may be able to see the light that filters in through the womb. She is also developing billions of neurons in her brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.

Birthday Recap - A Family Celebration

On Ryder's actual Birthday, we decorated the house and had the family over to celebrate. We made chicken fingers and mac & cheese, had birthday cake and opened presents. Ryder was in heaven.

After opening his first gift, which was a Lawn Mower, he was not interested in anymore gifts, and just wanted to play. He was quite content with that one present. Tyson mentioned that we could hide the rest of the presents and bring one out every week and he would be a very happy boy. Needless to say, it took quite some coaxing, begging and pleading for him to get back to opening. But we loved it, loved watching him open, how long it lasted, and watching him play. This is what giving gifts is all about, seeing the joy on his face was so great!

RYDER'S 2ND BIRTHDAY

The balloons are up and decorating the house, the presents are wrapped, the birthday banner is hung...this can only mean 1 thing...we have a birthday!

Two years ago today I became a Mommy. What a very special day that was. Ryder has been such a wonderful, sweet, darling baby, and he is becoming a very special boy with such a great attitude! He is so active yet laid back, so loving, and just has such a great personality. He has brought so much joy and love to our family, I am so proud to be his Mommy. I cant believe how fast the time has gone by, but my Ryder is turning 2 today! Happy Birthday to my sweet baby boy! You are so, so, loved!

Let the celebrations begin...Monday we went to Disneyland, today we will celebrate with my family featuring a Ryder inspired dinner consisting of chicken strips/nuggets and mac & cheese, and this weekend is the big party. It has been such a fun filled week, so far. Let the celebrations continue!
